Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Wordno is a free daily word and number puzzle game you play in your web browser. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean the team behind Wordno. It explains what information is involved when you play, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
The short version
- There are no accounts. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- Your scores and progress are saved only in your own browser.
- We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how people use the game.
- We don’t sell your information and we don’t show ads.
1. Information stored on your device
To make the daily puzzle work, Wordno saves a small amount of data in your browser’s local storage: today’s result, your past scores (to show your best score) and an in-progress game, so a page refresh doesn’t lose your place. This data stays on your device. We don’t receive it, and you can delete it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
2. Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to learn things like how many people play each day, which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from (country or city level) and what kind of device and browser they use. This helps us fix problems and improve the game.
Google Analytics uses cookies (for example _ga and _ga_<ID>) and similar technologies to collect this information. It may include an online identifier, pages viewed, time spent, approximate location, device and browser details, and the website that referred you. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We look at this information only in aggregated reports and do not use it to identify you personally.
Your choice. If you visit from the European Union, the wider European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway), the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Türkiye, we ask first: a pop-up lets you accept or decline, and analytics only starts if you accept. In other countries, where the law does not require asking first, analytics is turned on automatically. To find out which applies, our host Cloudflare tells the page your country (based on your IP address); only the country code is used and nothing is stored. Wherever you are, you can change your choice at any time:
You can also block Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services and in Google’s Privacy Policy. Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics settings (no longer than 14 months) and then deleted automatically.
3. Services that help run the game
When your browser loads Wordno or uses some of its features, it connects directly to a few outside services. Like any website, they can see technical details such as your IP address and browser type:
- Cloudflare hosts the website and may keep short-term logs for security and reliability.
- Free Dictionary API (dictionaryapi.dev) checks whether the word you submit in the letters round is a real English word. Only the word itself is sent.
- Google Fonts provides the typefaces used on the site.
- jsDelivr delivers the open-source 3D graphics library used for the background flowers.
Each of these services handles data under its own privacy policy.
4. How we use information
We use the information described above only to run the game, keep it secure, understand how it is used and make it better. We do not sell or rent it, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Children
Wordno is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Wordno, please contact us and we will delete it.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. Because we don’t run accounts, most of this is in your hands: you can clear Wordno’s local data in your browser and block or decline analytics cookies. For anything else, contact us below. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the game changes, for example when new features are added. We will change the “Last updated” date above, and important changes will be highlighted in the game.
8. Contact
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at privacy@wordno.example.
